Audi Sport Team will start Sunday’s California 8 Hours from the pole, after Christopher Haase stormed to the top in this afternoon’s Super Pole.
Haase’s fast lap of 1:23.961 in the No. 29 Audi Audi R8 LMS was 0.195 seconds faster than Winkelhock’s fast time in the No. 44 Audi Sport Team Magnus machine, securing a front row sweep for the German manufacturer.
Patrick Long put the No. 58 Porsche Motorsport North America by Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R in the third spot over half a second off the pole speed.
The No. 11 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi will start fourth courtesy of Robin Frijns’ qualifying effort, with Alvaro Parente in the No. 9 K-PAX Racing McLaren 650S GT3 checking in with the fifth-fastest speed.
Jereon Bleekemolen set the pace in GT3 Pro-Am with the seventh-fastest overall time for Porsche and Black Swan Racing.
Other class polesitters include the No. 194 MARC Cars Australia Marc Mazda 3 V8 in the Invitational class and the No. 07 TRG Aston Martin GT4 in the GT4 category.
