Heylen Quickest on Friday at NOLA

Wright Motorsports driver goes quickest in second practice, fastest of the day at NOLA…

Jan Heylen was quickest in Friday practice for Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS competitors in preparation for this weekend’s Rounds 3 and 4 of the season at NOLA Motorsports Park.

The Wright Motorsports driver stormed to a best lap of 1:34.398 early in the 60-minute afternoon session to outpace the No. 9 TR3 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Daniel Morad by 0.262 seconds.

Heylen is co-driving his No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 R with Charlie Luck.

Wright’s Elliott Skeer put his previous-generation Type-991.2 Porsche third quickest overall, followed by the Pro class pace-setting No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 of Mario Farnbacher and Ashton Harrison in fourth.

The No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3 of John Edwards completed the top-five, ahead of Ryan Dalziel’s No. 33 Triasi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 in sixth.

RS1’s Porsche was seventh on the time sheets, followed by Friday morning pace-setting No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes of Colin Braun and the No. 08 DXDT Racing Mercedes of Bryan Sellers in eighth and ninth, respectively.

The No. 007 TRG Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Valentin Hasse Clot completed the top-ten.

Qualifying is scheduled to get underway at 9 a.m. CT and will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube page.
