K-PAX Bentleys Lose Poles; Pre-Race BoP Changes Revealed

Both of the K-PAX Racing Bentley Continental GT3s have lost its respective pole positions for tomorrow’s Pirelli World Challenge SprintX round at Lime Rock Park due to technical infractions.

The No. 9 Bentley of Alvaro Parente, who claimed overall pole, as well as teammate and GT Pro-Am class pole-sitter Rodrigo Baptista have been excluded from qualifying after both cars were found to not be in “RPM compliance” according to a PWC spokesperson.

Per rule 11.3.5 in the PWC technical regulations, cars must not exceed the RPM limit listed.

It has thus given the overall pole to the No. 80 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Mike Skeen, with the No. 19 TruSpeed Autosport Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Parker Chase set to start from the top spot in Pro-Am.

Post-Qualifying BoP Changes Confirmed

SRO, meanwhile, has confirmed several Balance of Performance changes following qualifying, including, most notably, a change in the overboost time limit for the Bentley.

Previously, the Bentleys were permitted a 100ms limit and will now have a maximum of 50ms. 

There has also been a 25kg weight increase for the GTS pole-sitting KTM X-Bow GT4.

Race 1 for GTS gets underway Monday at 9:55 a.m. EDT, followed by the first of two GT rounds of the day, kicking off at 11:25 a.m.
