Toby Grahovec is a veteran of Pirelli World Challenge competition who, along with co-driver Chris Omacht, picked up his first win of the season at VIR in April.

This week in the Pirelli Paddock Pass, the Chicago native updates us on his season to date and what makes Pirelli World Challenge the ultimate destination for the Classic BMW operation.

Has the 2018 season so far matched your expectations?

“Overall, yes. So far this year has had some ups and downs, but it’s been a great learning process in the new BMW M4 GT4.

“The highlight thus far is when Chris and I earned Chris’ first win ever when we raced at VIR in April.”

What has the strength of the BMW M4 GT4 proven to be?

“The BMW is very well balanced and great at accelerating out of the corners by putting the power to the ground.

“It also brakes quite well and is able to maintain its performance throughout the entire race.”

What tracks remaining on the schedule best suit the car and why?

“I’m looking forward to racing in Portland because I haven’t raced there since 2006.

“I think the car will be strong there with the long braking zone going into turn one because the M4 GT4 has such amazing brakes.”

How has Chris Omacht enjoyed his time racing with the team in the SprintX rounds?

“As I mentioned, Chris really enjoyed his first podium finish and win ever in PWC this year.

“We’ve been having a great time driving together and look forward to more success throughout the remainder of the season.”

What are the benefits of racing in Pirelli World Challenge for Classic BMW?

“The benefits for Classic BMW in racing in this series is that we race the cars that the dealership sells.

“This not only promotes the dealership, but also turns our customers into a fan base, as they are able to see the vehicles they drive on the street raced to their limits, which highlights the performance capabilities of these cars.

“It also gives Classic BMW’s technicians an opportunity to expand their skill set by being part of a race team.”
