Tom Sargent set the fastest time in the second practice session of the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS round at Sebring.

The Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver set a time of 2:00.453 in the Pro-Am No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo that he shares with Kyle Washington.

The No. 32 machine was 0.101 seconds quicker than the No. 34 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Michai Stephens and Mikael Grenier.

The Pro class championship leaders finished the session ahead of Archangel Motorsports’ McLaren 720S GT3 Evo in third.

Frederik Schandorff and Matias Perez Companc finished fourth overall and second in the Pro class in their No. 12 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo.

Turner Motorsport rounded out the top five with the No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Robby Foley and Justin Rothberg.

Sargent smashed Loek Hartog’s fastest time from the opening practice session of the weekend on Friday evening. He lapped 0.607 seconds faster in the 60-minute session on Saturday morning.

The top seven cars in the session were the first of the weekend to dip below a 2:01 lap time.

The No. 20 AF Corse Ferrari finished the session in 20th overall as the only Am class competitor entered for this weekend’s event.

The No. 6 Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3 EVO did not set a time in the first practice of the weekend after a heavy crash for Alex Sedgwick in a GTWC America/GT America test session on Friday morning.

Sportscar365 understands that the team worked through the night to repair the car, completing the work early on Saturday morning.

The Pro class Ford did emerge from the pits in the middle of the second practice session, setting a personal best time of 2:01.407 and finishing in 11th place overall.

GTWC America qualifying is scheduled for 2:10 p.m. EST on Saturday afternoon, ahead of the three-hour race at 5 p.m EST.

Both sessions will be streamed live on SRO’S GT World YouTube Channel.
