Sargent Paces Second Barber Practice

Tom Sargent remained atop the time charts in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, pacing the second practice session of the weekend for tomorrow’s three-hour race at Barber Motorsports Park.

The Porsche Motorsport North America Selected driver recorded a best lap of 1:20.529, improving on his chart-topping time from Friday by more than seven-tenths.

Sargent’s time on Saturday morning was 0.190 seconds quicker than the No. 13 Kellymoss Porsche of Riley Dickinson/

Scott Andrews put the No. 04 HP-TECH Motorsport Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo third, ahead of the No. 27 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Philip Ellis.

The No. 69 Archangel Motorsports McLaren 720S GT3 Evo of Aaron Telitz completed the overall top-five, which were all Pro-Am class cars.

JMF’s Mikael Grenier was quickest of the Pro contingent in sixth, while the No. 163 AF Corse Ferrari, the lone Am class entry, posted the 14th quickest time with Ozz Negri at the wheel.

The No. 14 Riley Technologies BMW M4 GT3 EVO returned to action after an oil pump issue that saw Slade Stewart and Andy Lee not complete any laps in Practice 1.

There were no reported incidents or red flags during the 60 minutes of running.

The third and final practice session of the weekend is set for 2:50 p.m. CST.
