Schandorff, Perez Companc Combine for Barber Pole

Frederik Schandorff and Matias Perez Companc have combined for overall pole for this afternoon’s GT World Challenge America powered by AWS race at Barber Motorsports Park.

The duo in the No. 12 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo had an average of 1:20.868, which was just 0.027 seconds quicker than Pro class points leaders Mikael Grenier and Michai Stephens in their No. 34 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

Their combined average was manually posted by timing and scoring late in the second segment of qualifying, as the car was known to have had a transponder issue.

It marked the team’s third consecutive overall pole position.

The No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Robby Foley and Justin Rothberg qualified third overall.

Jan Heylen and Danny Dyszelski claimed Pro-Am class pole in their No. 28 RS1 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo, which had the fourth quickest time overall.

Road America class winners Daniel Morad and Brayton Williams will start fifth overall in their TR3 Racing Mercedes-AMG.

The No. 27 JMF Mercedes-AMG of Philip Ellis and Jason Daskalos was third in the Pro-Am class.

Tom Sargent, who topped all three practice sessions in his No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, is slated to start 12th alongside co-driver Kyle Washington.

The Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver had the outright fastest single-lap in the session, a blazing 1:20.024.
