Jonny Adam set the fastest lap time of Saturday morning’s Free Practice session for the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup round at Silverstone.
Driving the Oman Racing Team with TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage GT3, he logged a lap time of 2:00.510 in a 60-minute session that saw times consistently improve throughout.
Jules Gounon was the first driver to break the 2:01 barrier, in the No. 87 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3, but over four tenths slower than Adam’s eventual time.
This put two Pro-Am cars at the top of the standings.
Albert Costa was the third-quickest driver, taking the No. 14 Emil Frey Jaguar G3 to third.
Frank Perera had been the session leader early on but was only quick enough for seventh by the checkered flag.
It was a clean session with no major incidents, and all 55 cars setting lap times.
The session was the first time the track had been open to all competitors, following a Bronze Test yesterday evening that was topped by AKKA ASP’s Alex Fontana.
Next up is the Pre-Qualifying session at 3:55 p.m. BST this afternoon.
