AKKA ASP set the pace in Free Practice 2 for the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup finale at the Nürburgring although Belgian Audi Club Team WRT remained fastest overall on Friday.

Raffaele Marciello posted a best time of 1:55.529 in Friday afternoon’s FP2 in the No. 88 ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3 he shares with Michael Meadows but was overshadowed by WRT’s pace from the morning’s session.

Dries Vanthoor logged a 1.54.581 in his No. 2 Audi R8 LMS GT3 midway through FP1 which was good enough to remain the fastest time of the weekend so far.

Marciello and Meadows enter the weekend tied for the championship lead with WRT’s Alex Riberas and Christopher Mies who were sixth quickest in FP2.

Sainteloc Racing was classified second in the afternoon session with its No. 25 Audi just 0.016 seconds of the Mercedes’ pace.

Black Falcon was again the best-placed Silver Cup team with its Mercedes driven by Hubert Haupt and Luca Stolz, meanwhile.

The TP 12 Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 topped Pro-Am in FP2 with a time only 0.009 seconds slower than the class pace-setter in the morning, Rinaldi Racing.

Qualifying is set for 9:30 a.m. local time on Saturday.
