Klaus Bachler and Dinamic Motorsport set the pace in the opening session ahead of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup’s Paul Ricard 1000km on Friday.

The Austrian took his Dinamic-run Porsche 911 GT3 R to the top of the timesheets by 0.526 seconds, while the same gap covered the next 17 cars.

Bachler, Zaid Ashkanani and Andrea Rizzoli won the opening Blancpain GT race of the season at Monza in April on Dinamic’s GT3 debut.

AKKA ASP was second and third quickest in Friday’s 90-minute Free Practice session, with its Silver and Pro-Am Cup entries, respectively.

Nico Bastian and Jim Pla set the quickest lap times in the French team’s No. 90 and No. 87 Mercedes-AMG GT3s to go second and third.

ROWE Racing’s No. 99 Porsche placed fourth, ahead of Silverstone winner SMP Racing’s Ferrari 488 GT3.

Rinaldi Racing led the way in the Am Cup from 31st overall with its No. 33 Ferrari.

Pre-Qualifying at Circuit Paul Ricard is scheduled for 5 p.m. local time (11 a.m. EDT).
