TDS Racing’s Henry Hassid opened his 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series campaign with a fastest lap time in the Bronze Test at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.

Hassid, who aims to win the Pro-Am title this season, set a fastest time of 1:49.761 in the one-hour session this afternoon. Fredy Barth was second fastest in the session in the Emil Frey Racing Jaguar G3, just over two tenths slower than the No. 12 BMW Z4 GT3.

Despite the second fastest time in the Bronze Test, Barth was forced to park the Jaguar on track towards the end of the session as smoke was seen coming from under the hood.

ROAL Motorsport ended the session in third place, the No. 43 BMW Z4 GT3’s best lap time 0.284s slower than the TDS Racing BMW’s time. First of the Pro Cup entries was the Oman Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3, driven by 2012 British GT champion Michael Caine.

Out of the 40 cars entered this weekend, 28 took part in the Bronze Test. Twenty six managed to complete a timed lap.

Dennis Andersen, No. 17 Insight Racing Ferrari, and Gilles Vannelet, No. 42 Sport Garage Ferrari, were unable to set a time after running into each other at the pit entry. Both cars were damaged in the incident and were unable to take further part in the session.

RESULTS: Bronze Test
