The Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup returns for round three this weekend around the Nürburgring sprint circuit as part of the Internationaler ADAC Truck Grand-Prix.
The Sprint Cup makes its debut at the famous west German track, although the Endurance Cup also holds its final round there later in the year.
ENTRY LIST: Nürburgring
There are few changes to the entry list since Brands Hatch which remains at 37 cars overall. Nico Mueller replaces Robin Frijns at the wheel of Belgian Audi Club Team WRT’s No. 4 Audi R8 LMS, joining Dries Vanthoor.
Meanwhile, Maxime Martin is in for Jesse Krohn at ROWE Racing, in the No. 98 BMW M6 GT3.
While Attempto Racing has pulled its No. 77 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of Davide Valsecchi and Marco Mapelli, the car count remains the same with the return of the No. 28 WRT Audi, driven by Rene Rast and Will Stevens.
Following last weekend’s Endurance Cup round at Circuit Paul Ricard, Rob Bell has a 20 point lead in the overall Blancpain GT Series standing, driving the No. 58 McLaren 650S GT3 for Garage 59 this weekend.
In joint second place are Maximilian Buhk and Dominik Baumann, who have 70 points and compete in HTP Motorsport’s No. 84 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
In the Sprint Cup championship, Enzo Ide and Christopher Mies, of the No. 33 WRT Audi, lead by a single point over Jules Szymkowiak and Bernd Schneider, in the No. 86 HTP Mercedes.
Free Practice starts on Friday, with the Qualifying Race scheduled for 2:30 p.m. local time Saturday, followed by the Main Race at 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
