Jeroen Bleekemolen set the pace in the second Blancpain Sprint Series free practice session at the Portimao circuit, as Lamborghini and Audi once again took up the top spots.

Bleekemolen immediately put his No. 28 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 GT3 on top of the timing screens, his time of 1:44.810 remained unbeaten, but was 0.886s off this morning’s best set by Tomas Enge.

The Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audis of René Rast and Laurens Vanthoor improved their times near the end of the 80-minute session, ending up in second (+0.332s) and third (+0.542s), preventing another Lambo 1-2 by referring Tomas Enge’s G-Drive Gallardo to P4 (+0.706s).

BMW made up some ground in the afternoon, with the No. 0 Team Brasil BMW Z4 GT3 of Sergio Jiminez and Caca Bueno posting the fifth fastest time (+0.720s) and the Schübert BMW of Thomas Jäger and Dominik Baumann ending up in P9 (+1.115s).

Two of the 22 cars taking part this weekend were not classified, with the local No. 72 Sports & You Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 failing to deliver a respectable time and the No. 60 Bhaitech McLaren not even making it out of the pits.

RESULTS: Free Practice 2
