ROAL Motorsport will enter a second BMW Z4 GT3 in the Blancpain Sprint Series for Stefano Colombo and David Fumanelli, in addition to the already confirmed entry for Alex Zanardi, who will race a specially modified version of the car solo.
As both Colombo (23) and Fumanelli (21) are still in their early twenties, they will compete for the Silver Cup, which places particular emphasis on the promotion of future talents and awards extra funds to pairs of young drivers.
Colombo is no stranger to Roberto Ravaglia’s team with whom he claimed the 2012 Italian GT Championship and entered the 24 Hours of Spa last year. Fumanelli however is a GT rookie as he makes the switch from single seaters.
“This year our target is to point to the success in the class under 25’s”, said Colombo. “I’ll have to deal with the circuits that I do not know, but it does not scare me.”
Besides the double entry in the Sprint Series, ROAL will also field a BMW Z4 in the Blancpain Endurance Series for Michela Cerruti, Stefano Comandini and Eugenio Amos.
