Vanthoor Fastest in Blancpain Sprint Practice 2 at Brands

After posting the fourth quickest time in Free Practice 1, the No. 1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi R8 LMS ultra GT3 of reigning champion Laurens Vanthoor and his new teammate Cesar Ramos rose to the top in the final practice session of the Blancpain Sprint Series round at Brands Hatch before Qualifying later today.

Vanthoor delivered a 1:24.918 early on in the session, thereby improving Enge’s time from this morning by two tenths, and was closely followed by Andrea Montermini in the No. 90 Villorba Corse Ferrari 458 Italia (+0.043s).

René Rast confirmed the pace of the Audis by reeling off the third quikest time in the No. 2 WRT car (+0.176s) near the end, in front of the pacesetting No. 88 Reiter Engineering and No. 28 GRT Lamborghinis from Free Practice 1.

Both ROAL Motorsport BMWs showed good pace at the beginning of the one hour session and eventually ended up in P7 (Colombo/Fumanelli) and P9 (Zanardi), while the championship leading No. 84 HTP Motorsport Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 only managed to improve one position compared to FP1 (+0.830s).

Nineteen cars put in a time, with the Farnbacher Porsche not returning to action this weekend due to chassis damage. The top 12 remained within the same second.
