Leipert Motorsport has announced that it will return to the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup next year with a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.
The German team is set for its first Endurance Cup spell in over a decade after it contested the inaugural 2011 campaign before going on to focus on other championships.
Brendon Leitch is the first confirmed driver for what is expected to be a Silver Cup entry.
Leipert currently competes in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and also runs Mercedes-AMG GT4s in German national competition, while it is has mapped out a series of GT3 outings to prepare for its GTWC Europe comeback.
It is set to contest the International GT Open round at Monza on Sep. 25-26 with Leitch and Tyler Cooke sharing the wheel.
One week before that, the team will race in the German Gran Turismo Cup event at Hockenheim.
Leipert is also planning 24-hour race outings at Sebring International Raceway in November and Dubai Autodrome in January 2022. In July it joined the Intelligent Money British GT Championship at Spa but its Lamborghini did not take part in the race.
Leipert’s last Endurance Cup program came with a Lamborghini Gallardo LP600 driven by the Portuguese trio of Duarte Felix da Costa, Lourenco da Veiga and Ricardo Bravo.
