Madpanda Motorsport will part ways with Mercedes-AMG and bring an end to five-year relationship with the German manufacturer, skipping next week’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup finale at Barcelona.
In a statement published on Thursday, the Argentinean-flagged, Spanish-based outfit outlined that it will be putting its Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo up for sale.
“We regret to inform that we have decided to put a stop to our relationship with AMG,” the team wrote.
“We would like to thank all the people involved in the brand for these incredible five years working together, and for all the support we have received from them.”
The team’s announcement comes just a few weeks after its decision to wind down its program in the Endurance Cup with two rounds remaining.
While the team outlined its intention to be on the grid for the Sprint Cup finale at Barcelona at the time, it has now stated that it will forego that event as well.
“Following this, we also announce that we will not be participating in the final round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Sprint at Barcelona,” the team added.
“We appreciate the understanding from SRO, and we look forward to racing again in the future in the most competitive GT championship.
“We are grateful for all the support we are receiving from our fans and sponsors during this transition time for the team, and we look forward to sharing together what the future brings!”
