***Belgian Audi Club Team WRT has drafted in several new drivers for this weekend’s Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup season finale at Nürburgring. While the lineups of the No. 1 and No. 2 cars remain unchanged, the other three Audi R8 LMS welcome a couple of youngsters.
***Ben Barnicoat is a surprise late addition to the Belgian squad. The 19-year-old Brit currently races in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship and fills the seat previously taken by Peter Kox and Bertrand Baguette in the No. 4 car of Adrien De Leener and Pierre Kaffer. The move was made possible through the Racing Steps Foundation, a British non-profit organization that supports the career development of a number of British drivers.
***Adrien Tambay joins the Brazilian duo of Sérgio Jimenez and Rodrigo Baptista in the No. 3 Audi, replacing Filipe Albuquerque, who is on FIA WEC duty with RGR Sport this weekend. The French DTM ace already competed in Blancpain GT with Saintéloc Racing.
***As previously confirmed, Christopher Mies and Connor De Phillippi complete the lineup in the No. 28 Audi of Will Stevens. The German-American duo currently lead the ADAC GT Masters drivers’ standings.
***Christian Engelhart will sub for Jeroen Bleekemolen in the No. 16 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracán GT3, due to the Dutchman’s IMSA commitments at COTA. Engelhart will team with his ADAC GT Masters co-driver Rolf Ineichen and Squadra Corse driver Mirko Bortolotti.
***Nikolaj Rogivue is the third driver in the Zakspeed Mercedes-AMG GT3 that will make a return to the series in the Eifel this weekend. The Swiss driver already competes with the team in the ADAC GT Masters and joins reigning German GT3 champions Sebastian Asch and Luca Ludwig, who were already announced by the team..
***Up-and-coming Porsche driver Mathieu Jaminet will reinforce the IMSA Performance Porsche 911 GT3 R in the Pro-Am Cup. The 21-year-old Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Carrera Cup France driver slots in between Raymond Narac and Thierry Cornac.
