The No. 6 Audi Sport Team Phoenix Audi R8 LMS of Christopher Mies is out of the Total 24 Hours of Spa, after the car erupted into flames in the 19th hour while contention for the win.

Rain, meanwhile, has caused chaos at Spa-Francorchamps, with teams now pitting for wet weather tires with less than five hours remaining in the race.

The No. 8 M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3 of Andy Soucek leads ahead of the No. 99 ROWE Racing BMW M6 GT3 of Alexander Sims in second.

Both have pitted for wets after previously gambling on slicks during a brief shower last hour.

The No. 88 AMG-Team AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3 has now inherited third, following the retirement for the No. 6 Audi.

Mies bailed from the burning Audi uninjured but the incident resulted in the 10th Full Course Yellow of the race. Audi reported the cause of the fire was triggered by a tire puncture.

Further drama developed while under yellow when the No. 99 ROWE car was wheeled to the garage for a second brake change, although performed in quick fashion and kept the car in second.
