WRT Audi Fastest in Wet Night Practice at Misano

Laurens Vanthoor’s No. 1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi R8 LMS posted the quickest time in a rain-soaked night practice for the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup at Misano.

It was Rob Bell’s No. 58 Garage 59 McLaren 650S GT3 that set the early pace in the 80-minute session. His time of 1:52:125 remained at the top of the timing screens as the rain intensified.

In the dying minutes, Vanthoor improved the Brit’s time by 0.356s, while the No. 85 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Jazeman Jafaar also moved up to third as the conditions got better again.

The No. 33 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi of Christopher Mies and Enzo Ide, fastest in the first practice session, and No. 6 Phoenix Audi made it three Audis in the top-five.

The session was red flagged after 25 minutes, when the Am Cup entered X-Bionic Racing Team Lamborghini Huracán GT3 went into the tire barriers at the first corner.

Most cars continued to turn laps despite the bad weather conditions, as there’s a chance for rain during tomorrow evening’s Qualifying Race.
