Penske Back on Top in Practice 4

Ricky Taylor posted the fastest time of Practice 4 at Sebring for Acura Team Penske..

Ricky Taylor returned Acura Team Penske to the top of the time sheets in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

Taylor’s best lap of 1:47:076 in the No. 7 Acura ARX-05 was 0.436 seconds faster than second-place Pipo Derani in the No. 22 Tequila Patron ESM Nissan Onroak DPi.

Pato O’Ward was third fastest in Performance Tech Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson 0.785 seconds back, while Mazda Team Joest’s Jonathan Bomarito and ESM’s Olivier Pla completed the top five.

BMW swept the two spots in GT Le Mans, led by Connor De Phillippi in the No. 25 BMW M8 GTLM with Jesse Krohn 0.239 seconds behind in the sister No. 24 entry.

Porsche was third and fourth with Laurens Vanthoor in the No. 911 Porsche 911 RSR ahead of Nick Tandy in the sister No. 912, while Joey Hand was fifth in the No. 66 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT.

Christopher Mies in the No. 29 Audi R8 LMS GT3 led the way in GT Daytona for Land Motorsport, followed by Daniel Serra and Trent Hindman of Spirit of Race and Michael Shank Racing, respectively.

The session was delayed several minutes due to visibility concerns from smoke and fog that hovered over the track but ran without major incident.

Qualifying is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET this afternoon.
