French outfit Ultimate will step up from the VdeV Endurance Series to the European Le Mans Series next year, with the team having confirmed the purchase of a Ligier JS P3.

Brothers Matthieu and Jean-Baptiste Lahaye will be joined by Francois Heriau in the six-round championship, which kicks off at Silverstone in April.

“We are very happy to run a Ligier JS P3 next year,” Jean-Baptiste Lahaye said. “The relationship and trust we have with Ligier and the Nicolet family led us to naturally look to them to accompany us on this adventure.

“It’s a logical evolution for the team to leave CN and to run in LMP3. The choice to run the full European Le Mans Series is this desire for change.”

It will mark Matthieu Lahaye’s return to the cockpit in an ACO-labeled series since 2012 when he took part in the FIA World Endurance Championship with OAK Racing.
