Recently crowned 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Earl Bamber will make a guest appearance in next weekend’s FIA WEC Six Hours of Nürburgring, filling in for Klaus Bachler in the No. 88 Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR.

The 25-year-old Kiwi will join Khaled Al Qubaisi and Christian Ried in the GTE-Am class entry, due to a clashing ADAC GT Masters race for Bachler on the same weekend.

It will mark the Porsche factory driver’s third consecutive FIA WEC start and first since Le Mans where he teamed with Nick Tandy and Nico Hulkenberg for victory in Porsche’s 919 Hybrid.

Bamber, as well as Tandy, currently compete full-time in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship for Porsche North America.
