Following the devastating floods in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Black Swan Racing has donated, plus matched, the prize money earned from last weekend’s Pirelli World Challenge SprintX season-ending round at Circuit of The Americas, to assist the relief efforts.

The Tim Pappas-owned team, which scored a sweep of second place Pro-Am class finishes in the three final rounds of the season, has elected to donate a sum total of $14,890 to help those displaced in the region.

COTA is located just 160 miles from Houston, which took the bulk of the impact from the Category 4 hurricane nearly ten days ago.

“The events over the last two weeks in Texas are of course at the forefront of everyone’s attention, and at the very least we want to donate our prize earnings, as well as personally match it, to the efforts,” Pappas said.

WC Vision, promoters of PWC, have also supported relief efforts, having assisted in outreach for donations to the Red Cross throughout the COTA weekend.

“As a resident of Texas, our prayers are with the victims of this tragedy as well as the communities and first responders dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and the ongoing flooding. We hope those areas receive relief as soon as possible,” WC Vision President and CEO Greg Gill said in a statement last week.

PWC officials elected for the triple-header round to go on as planned, with the FIA World Endurance Championship set to arrive at the Texas circuit next week for the sixth round of its season.
