Braun Tops Opening GTS Practice at COTA

Colin Braun topped the time sheets in opening GTS SprintX practice for this weekend’s Pirelli World Challenge round at Circuit of The Americas.

Braun, in the No. 14 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4, reeled off a best time of 2:18.271 in the 40-minute session, edging out the No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 by 0.044 seconds.

The No. 34 Murillo Racing Mercedes-AMG entry was third, ahead of two Classic BMWs, which completed the top-five overall and in the Pro-Am class.

Braun is sharing driving duties of the Audi with full-season GTS driver George Kurtz.

Quickest in Am was the No. 88 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW GT4 of Greg Liefooghe and Henry Schmidtt, having posted the 11th quickest time overall.

Practice 2 for GTS competitors is set to get underway at 12:50 p.m. CT.
