Mike Hedlund will not take part in either Pirelli World Challenge GT race at Road America, due to a personal matter, leaving K-PAX Racing with a two-car McLaren 650S GT3 effort this weekend.

Hedlund (pictured right), who practiced his No. 98 McLaren on Thursday and Friday, is due to fly back to his home in California later today and will miss both races.

A replacement driver will not be used for the car, despite Hedlund’s SprintX co-driver, Michael Lewis, being on-site this weekend.

“It is really unfortunate that Mike is unable to compete this weekend as he is currently sitting in third position for GTA class points and doing well,” said Program Manager Darren Law.

“We look forward to having him back in the car next race.”

James Sofronas scored GTA class pole for this afternoon’s 50-minute race, which gets underway at 4:30 p.m. CT.
