The No. 31 TR3 Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 of Daniel Mancinelli and Niccolo Schiro set the pace in the first SprintX practice of the weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, edging the Pro-Am duo of Jeroen Bleekemolen and Tim Pappas for Black Swan Racing by 0.101 seconds.

The Pro-Pro lineup of Mancinelli and Schiro had an advantage of 0.291 seconds over Patrick Long and Joerg Bergmeister in the second-place Pro-Pro Porsche 911 GT3 R entry for Wright Motorsports.

Alex Riberas and Kyle Marcelli rounded out the top-three in Pro-Pro with the fourth overall fastest lap for R. Ferri Motorsports in their No. 61 Ferrari, with the No. 8 Cadillac ATS-V.R of Michael Cooper and Jordan Taylor and the sister No. 3 Cadillac completing the top five.

Bleekemolen and Pappas led Pro-Am for Black Swan Racing, followed by the GMG Racing Porsche of James Sofronas and Laurens Vanthoor.

Other class leaders included the No. 30 Ferrari of Henrique Cisneros and Tyler McQuarrie in Am-Am for NGT Motorsports, Dream Racing’s Allesandro Bressan and Yuki Harata in GT Cup, and late additions Kenton Koch and George Kurtz for GMG Racing in GTS.

The practice was halted twice for incidents on track, the first coming with just under 40-minutes remaining when the No. 09 TRG Aston Martin of Kyle Tilley and Jerry Kaufman found the tire barriers.

The car was able to drive back to the pit lane under its own power and practice resumed after a lengthy stoppage.

The second red flag came with 11-minutes left in the session when the No. 90 Autometrics Motorsports GT Cup entry encountered problems on track.

That incident brought an end to the practice.

The SprintX teams return to the track for qualifying this afternoon at 4:55 p.m. ET. Qualifying for the GTS race is just before at 4:25 p.m. ET.
