The Russian driver bailed from the Graff Racing-run LMP3 car while under the race’s first safety car period due to fluid laid down on the Yas Marina Circuit, with smoke and fire billowing out of the car.
Race director Eduardo Freitas called the red flag moments later, which has seen the cars line up on the start/finish straight with the clock still running.
