Earl Bamber set the quickest time in a chilly warmup for this afternoon’s Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

The Chip Ganassi Racing driver reeled off a best lap of 1:15.573 in the DPi championship-leading No. 02 Cadillac DPi.V.R to outpace the pole-sitting No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-05.

CGR’s sister No. 01 Cadillac was third on the time charts.

LMP2 was paced by the No. 81 DragonSpeed Oreca 07 Gibson of Juan Pablo Montoya, while Jan Heylen was quickest of all the production-based contenders in his GTD class No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Dani Juncadella paced GTD Pro, meanwhile, in his No. 79 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

Twenty-eight of the 32 cars turned laps in the 20-minute session, which ran without any major incidents.

The Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship gets underway at 12:10 p.m. PT (3:10 p.m. ET) with live coverage on NBC.
