Porsche has reshuffled the driver lineup of its factory GTE-Pro program for the remainder of the FIA World Endurance Championship season.

The German manufacturer confirmed Tuesday that Marco Holzer has been replaced by Richard Lietz in the Porsche Team Manthey lineup, despite the Austrian recently breaking his arm in last month’s TUDOR United SportsCar Championship round at VIR.

Lietz is slated to pair with Joerg Bergmeister in the No. 91 Porsche 911 RSR beginning at the Six Hours of Circuit of The Americas in three weeks’ time, with Frenchman Patrick Pilet moving over to the No. 92 entry with Fred Makowiecki.

The No. 91 Porsche will see the addition of Nick Tandy for COTA, should Lietz not be ready to return to the cockpit following his injuries.

Holzer, meanwhile, will focus on test and development duties for Porsche.

“We reshuffled the driver line-up in the 911 RSR for tactical reasons. This puts us in a very good position for the remaining races of the season and our campaign for the World Endurance Championship title,” said Porsche Head of Motorsport Hartmut Kristen in a statement.

“Marco Holzer is an excellent test driver. He will support us for the rest of the season as a development driver for future factory and customer racing vehicles.”

No word has been given on Porsche North America’s lineup for COTA, should Lietz not be ready to return to racing.
