James Sofronas completed a practice sweep ahead of this weekend’s GT America powered by AWS title decider at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The No. 14 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II posted a 1:25.046 to lead a 1-2 for GMG Racing as Sofronas outpaced teammate Kyle Washington by 0.336 seconds.
Washington’s No. 32 Porsche 911 GT3 R was, in turn, 0.130 seconds faster than the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 piloted by Justin Rothberg.
Johnny O’Connell slotted into fourth at the wheel of the No. 3 SKI Autosports Audi, while Jason Daskalos rounded out the overall top five piloting the No. 27 CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
Mirco Schultis picked up sixth in the No. 70 Mishumotors Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R, leading the No. 2 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo driven by Jason Bell.
Dan Knox went quickest in the GT2 class, reeling off a 1:27.942 aboard the No. 10 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT2.
In the process, he outpaced GMG driver CJ Moses by over two seconds, separated in the overall standings by the No. 46 Dollahite Racing Audi of Scott Dollahite.
Isaac Sherman, meanwhile, topped the GT4 class with a best time of 1:31.638 aboard the No. 098 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.
Qualifying for GT America powered by AWS takes place Friday at 8:05 a.m. EDT.
