SRO America’s Full Field GT Car Parade Returns to Elkhart Lake

SRO America’s full field of race cars will leave the four-mile circuit and make its way into the streets of Elkhart Lake for one of the most anticipated traditions of the Road America weekend: the Full Field GT Car Parade.

More than 100 race cars from across all six SRO America championships will take to the streets, giving fans a chance to see all the different machinery up close and personal right in the heart of town before they battle it out on track.

For one evening, the ‘National Park of Speed’ comes to the village. From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. CST, the streets will come to life with all the sights and sounds of world-class GT racing.

The parade will showcase the full variety of SRO America competition, with cars representing GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, Pirelli GT4 America, GT America powered by AWS, TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School, Toyota GR Cup North America and McLaren Trophy America.

“It’s really fun, I’m very excited,” said Justin Rothberg, driver of the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 EVO. “Elkhart Lake has a really racing-focused population, so it’s really cool to bring all the cars downtown, park them on the street, and meet all the people who are thrilled to be there.

“It’s a summer destination for the family, so the kids and parents are really happy. It’s a really unique experience that we don’t get anywhere else.”

The parade has become a fan-favorite part of the overall Road America experience.

Once the cars arrive in downtown Elkhart Lake, the evening turns into a full-fledged celebration.

“The welcome party will feature live music at the Siebkens Resort, driver appearances, giveaways and SRO swag, creating a fun atmosphere for fans of all ages.

“The Full Field GT Car Parade in downtown Elkhart Lake is awesome,” added Michael Cooper, driver of the No. 33 Blackdog Racing McLaren Artura GT4.

“There’s such a cool racing community in that town, so getting to do that is so great. I’m glad that we get to hang out, meet people, and start the weekend off in a really special way.”

For competitors, it is a chance to step away from the intensity of the paddock and interact with the people who make Road America such an exceptional stop on the calendar. For fans, it is an opportunity to see the drivers and cars up close before the competition begins in earnest.

And for the Elkhart Lake community, it is a chance to welcome the entire SRO America paddock back to town once again.
