Inaugural Pro Class Champion Dennis to Make Series Return

Inaugural McLaren Trophy America Pro class co-champion Casey Dennis will make his series return in this weekend’s seventh and eighth rounds of the season at Road America.

Dennis, who teamed with James Li for the title last year, will sub for Tommy Pintos in the the No. 11 RWE Motorsport McLaren Artura Trophy EVO alongside Edmond Barseghian in the Pro-Am class.

Pintos, a McLaren GT3 Junior Driver, will be on GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup duty this weekend at the Nürburgring, at the wheel of a Greystone GT McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.

Additionally, Alexandria Hanier and Jesse Lazare, who claimed the Pro-Am class championship, will be back in Trophy America action for the first time since the Miami round earlier this year in the No. 43 Motorsports In Action McLaren.

It’s understood the pairing will complete the remainder of the SRO America-run single-make series.

There will also be a change in the No. 47 RWE McLaren, with Alex Pollard back in action alongside Spencer Schmidt in the Pro-Am entry, while Scott Sorbaro has dropped off the entry list, after contesting the opening three weekends of the season in the No. 3 OMS McLaren entry.

A total of 19 cars are entered for this weekend’ action.

Schmidt extended his lead in the Pro-Am class to three points over the Greystone GT duo of Ryan James and Oliver Webb, while Cooper Broll holds a scant single-point lead in Am ahead of GMG Racing’s Jeff Cook and Deniz Teoman.

McLaren Trophy America track action kicks off on Thursday with opening practice, with a second session scheduled for Friday morning.

Qualifying is on tap for Saturday morning, with Race 1 set for a 3:10 p.m. CST start and Race 2 on Sunday at 10 a.m. CST. Both races will be streamed live on McLaren Automotive and SRO’s GT World YouTube channels.
