Daniel Morad, Lucas Auer and Maro Engel took victory in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup finale in Jeddah, which saw Alessandro Pier Guidi and Alessio Rovera claim the drivers’ title in unlikely and dramatic circumstances
The No. 48 Mercedes-AMG Team Mann-Filter Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo crossed the line 7.971 seconds ahead of the No. 163 GRT Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.
Franck Perera, Marco Mapelli and Jordan Pepper needed a race win to capture the championship, but instead a podium finish for the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 gave the Italian squad the title after a late-race penalty for Comtoyou Racing.
Pier Guidi, Rovera and Davide Rigon, themselves coming back from an early-race pitstop mishap, completed the podium, aided by a late-race safety car.
In the two remaining classes, Sainteloc Racing trio Gilles Magnus, Jim Pla and Paul Evrard were crowned Gold Cup champions after taking the class victory, while Rutronik Racing did the same to capture the Bronze Cup championship.
