SPS automotive performance has announced the driver lineup for its second assault on the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour with its Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo fielded in association with The Heart of Racing.
The Bronze class-entered No. 27 Mercedes-AMG will be shared by Heart of Racing regulars Ian James and Ross Gunn as well as Zacharie Robichon for the Intercontinental GT Challenge season opener on Jan. 31-Feb. 2.
It follows confirmation that the alliance between the two teams will continue for 2025, beginning with this week’s Michelin 24H Dubai.
Heart of Racing by SPS placed second in the Pro-Am class in last year’s Bathurst 12H with British duo James and Gunn joined by Alex Riberas, the trio finishing tenth overall.
Robichon will be making his debut at Mount Panorama, having been part of Heart of Racing’s lineup for last year’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.
The Canadian will get his first taste of Mercedes-AMG machinery in Dubai, where he shares driving duties with James, Gray Newell and Hannah Grisham.
SPS team principal Stephan Sohn said: “We are delighted to be back at Bathurst. After last year’s class podium, we are highly motivated to achieve another good result.
“It will be another big challenge for the team. But after our debut in 2024, we can adapt better to the special circumstances and enter this great event with optimism.”
