Klaus Bachler led the Michelin 24H Dubai for Dinamic GT at the halfway stage.

The Austrian racer, piloting the No. 24 Porsche 911 GT3 R, held a lead of a minute and 35 seconds over the No. 77 Al Manar Racing by Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Al Faisal Al Zubair.

The two squads have repeatedly traded the lead of the race back and forth as the pitstop cycles run through, with the race’s eight Code 60 interventions resulting in variations in strategy.

This has meant that both the No. 92 Pure Rxcing Porsche and No. 991 Paradine Competition BMW also remain firmly within podium contention in third and fourth overall, respectively.

The No. 16 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, which led the opening lap, ran in fifth place with Gabriele Piana at the wheel.

Antares Au held sixth in the best-placed of the Herberth Motorsport Porsches, ahead of the No. 7 SMP Racing Mercedes-AMG.

GTX remained firmly in the hands of the No. 710 Leipert Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, while Team CMR was out front in GT4 with its No. 495 Ginetta G56 GT4 EVO.

The French squad saw one of its most significant rivals in the GT4 category eliminated when the No. 470 WS Racing BMW M4 GT4 caught fire in hour eight with Emely de Heus at the wheel.

The Dutch racer was able to escape the car unharmed, but the team has retired from the race.

The night hours also saw the retirement of the No. 31 Team Parker Racing Bentley Continental GT3, which had been suffering from gearshift issues.
