Ford Performance Junior Team driver Sam Paley and Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America driver Nick Persing will team up in KohR Motorsports’ second Ford Mustang GT4 for next weekend’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge round at Virginia International Raceway.
The duo will pilot the No. 60 entry, which has seen a rotating crop of drivers this season, including team owner/driver Dean Martin himself.
“I’m really excited to have Nick and Sam drive with us at VIR,” said Martin. “They are both very talented drivers and VIR is one of our favorite tracks. I’m looking forward to a great event with these guys.”
It will mark Paley’s return to Pilot Challenge competition after contesting the first four rounds of the season in McCumbee McAleer Racing’s Mustang GT4.
Paley is coming off a second-place finish in the second race of the Mustang Challenge weekend at Road America.
“I’m really excited to return to GT4 competition in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in the Ford Mustang GT4, and to do it with my very good friend Nick Persing is super cool,” he said.
“This is a very strong driver lineup, KohR Motorsports is a fantastic program with a long history, and Ford Performance provides a great GT4 platform. I’m very confident in what we can achieve together.
“I definitely have unfinished business in this series, and I’m looking forward to getting back out there at VIR.”
Persing added: “I’m really excited to make my debut in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge with KohR Motorsports in the Ford Mustang GT4, and getting to do it alongside my good friend Sam Paley makes it even better.
“KohR Motorsports has a rich history in this series, and Ford delivers such a strong GT4 platform. I’m confident we can put together a great result right out of the gate.
“Making my first start in this championship is a big step in my career, and I can’t wait to get to work at VIR.”
