Factory Ferrari driver Yifei Ye will join AF Corse for the final round of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season at Barcelona next weekend.
Ye will share the No. 51 Ferrari 296 GT3 with Vincent Abril and Alessio Rovera for the three-hour title-decider on Oct. 12 in place of Alessandro Pier Guidi.
The change comes as Pier Guidi faces a clash with the Motul Petit Le Mans, where the Ferrari Hypercar driver is also set to race a 296 GT3 for AF Corse.
Abril, Rovera and Pier Guidi have claimed a best finish so far of third place this year in the GTWC Europe Endurance Cup in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, and sit tenth in the drivers’ standings heading to Barcelona.
Ye, who was part of this year’s winning lineup in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for AF Corse, is no stranger to the 296 GT3, having most recently driven for Chinese squad Harmony Racing in the Okayama round of GTWC Asia in late August.
