Three motorsports organizations have joined forces for a joint venture to create an all-new prototype built around the new-for-2015 LMP3 regulations.

Adess AG, Sebastien Loeb Racing and Sora Racing have formed LAS Motorsport, which will launch both a LMP3 car as well as a track day car, largely based around the Le Mans-spec prototype.

The yet-to-be-named car will go on sale for 2015 and be eligible for competition in both the European and Asian Le Mans Series. It will be fitted with the class-wide Nissan V8 engine and spec electronics provided by ORECA.

German-based firm Adess AG, which designed the Lotus T128 LMP2 car, will be in charge of the car’s design and homologation, while Sora Racing, the manufacturer of the Pescarolo race cars, will be tasked with the production of the chassis and composites.

Assembly and development of the LMP3 cars, meanwhile, will be handled by Sebastien Loeb Racing, with a wide range of technical support also being offered for this new joint effort.

“When we started this project six years ago, we had the hope that our products one day will race in an international series. It’s the case now!” said Sora Racing project manager Jean-Philippe Perrier.

“We are proud to announce this joint venture that proposes an interesting combination of skills to deliver the best service and car to our future customers. We open a new chapter for our motorsport activity, which is definitely the most exciting.”

“I am delighted with this new joint venture with Sébastien Loeb Racing and Sora Racing,” said Adess AG CEO Stephane Chosse. “We will combine our passion and expertise to provide teams with an innovative and affordable Le Mans Prototype.”

The first car is expected to begin on track testing in the coming weeks.
