Supercup Champ Schuring to Make Debut With Lionspeed

Newly crowned Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup champion Flynt Schuring will make his GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS debut in next weekend’s Sprint Cup event at Zandvoort with Lionspeed GP.

The German squad confirmed on Thursday that the 20-year-old Dutchman, the younger brother of Porsche-contracted driver Morris, will share the wheel of a Silver class Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo with DTM regular Nicolas Baert in what will be his home race.

Schuring made history last month when, at 20 years and 11 days old, he became the youngest-ever overall champion in Supercup history, one year after winning rookie-of-the-year honors.

The full season Lionspeed pairing of Bastian Buus and Ricardo Feller currently sit second in the Sprint Cup Pro class standings and fourth overall in the combined standings following their victory in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

Schuring will form a Silver Cup duo with Belgian racer Baert, who joins the team with his own impressive GT3 record.

He currently competes in DTM with the Comtoyou Racing squad and won the Gold Cup title in Sprint Cup competition in 2023. Most recently, he secured a Silver Cup victory in the three-hour Endurance Cup round at the Nürburgring.
