Danish ace Christoffer Nygaard will join season-long drivers James Davison and Christina Nielsen in TRG-AMR’s No. 007 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 for the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.
A fourth driver for the opening round of the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup will be announced at a later date.
Gold-rated Nygaard, who finished runner-up in this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship with Aston Martin Racing in GTE-Am, made his TUDOR United SportsCar Championship debut in October’s season-ending Petit Le Mans with Turner Motorsport.
“This is truly a lethal combo between [Christina], James and now Christoffer, our awesome team, our combined experience – especially in the big races – and our work ethic, structure, and strategy,” said team owner Kevin Buckler.
The team plans to field a second GTD class Aston Martin for Daytona, with the driver lineup still being finalized due to recent changes in driver ratings.
Both cars will be at the annual Roar Before the Rolex 24 on Jan. 9-11.
“The Roar is when the real fun of the season begins,” Nielsen said. “We are heading there with a great car, a great team, and we collectively have one goal in mind – winning the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.”
Additionally, the team has also confirmed Max Riddle and Kris Wilson to run an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in selected Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge races next year, starting at Daytona.
