This weekend’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge testing at Daytona International Speedway will feature 30 cars, 15 apiece between GS and ST, with the field expected to grow for the season-opening race later this month.

Ford leads the way in numbers with seven Mustang Boss 302Rs of the 15 GS cars entered, although only four have confirmed driver lineups. The Multimatic Motorsports pair of entries – the team that won the 2014 pole with Jade Buford – currently have TBAs listed.

Mantella Autosport expands to a two-car lineup with its pair of new Camaro Z/28.Rs, acquired from CKS Autosport. Martin Barkey and Kyle Marcelli will share the No. 8 with Anthony Mantella and Mark Wilkins continuing as co-drivers, but in the No. 80 Camaro after running an Aston Martin Vantage last year.

Other notable entries include the No. 13 Rum Bum Racing Porsche 997, with drivers TBA, the No. 62 Mitchum Motorsports Camaro GS.R that features Dylan Murcott and 19-year-Swede Oskar Krüger, the 2015 Sunoco 200 Challenge winner, and the No. 07 TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4 with Kris Wilson and Max Riddle.

Notable absences include defending GS class champions Fall-Line Motorsports with their BMW M3s and the pair of Stevenson Motorsports Camaro Z/28.Rs, among others.

ST features a class-leading seven Porsche Caymans from five teams, and there will be more to come when the race occurs later this month.

Defending ST driver’s champion Eric Foss is in one of them, sharing the No. 56 Murillo Racing Cayman with Jeff Mosing and Justin Piscitell.

The new Next Level European team, a partnership effort between Bimmerworld and BGB Motorsports, sees Dan Rogers and Seth Thomas (No. 38) and Greg Liefooghe and Eric Zimmerman (No. 83) in those two Caymans.

New entrants Strategic Wealth Racing have been confirmed with Matthew Dicken and John Lewis sharing the No. 36 Cayman, featuring team support from leading Porsche Cayman outfit Goldcrest Motorsports.

The remainder of the class includes five BMWs from Bimmerworld (two 328s), Burton Racing, Murillo Racing and Crucial Motorsports, and a single Mazda MX-5 (Alara Racing) and Honda Civic Si (CRG – I Do Borrow) apiece.

Notable absences here include Team Sahlen, Compass360 Racing, HART Racing Team and the new Rennsport One squad, among others.

Testing begins on Friday for CTSC teams and drivers.
