Gulf Racing has announced British racing driver James Winslow will join Mike Wainwright and Adam Carroll in the European Le Mans Series.

The Australian-based driver will race the team’s Porsche 911 RSR in the five rounds of the European series this season.

Winslow previously competed in the Asian Le Mans Series, where he raced for KCMG and Eurasia Motorsport in the LMP2 category. In 2014 the 31-year-old competed at Le Mans, racing the No. 41 Greaves Motorsport Zytek Z11SN Nissan.

“I’m very happy to be joining Gulf Racing in 2015, every driver wants to be with the best team and that is exactly what has happened here,” Winslow said.

“Gulf Racing is an exciting team with very talented team members, I join two very good co-drivers with Mike and Adam, we are a very strong combination and I’m looking forward to getting the season underway.”

“We are very pleased to return to the ELMS with Porsche, it’s genuinely our goal to win the championship this year and we feel we have a strong enough package to do that,” Gulf Racing’s team manager Matt Beers added.

Despite filing for an entry for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Gulf Racing was not selected to compete in the 83rd running of the race. The team is currently fourth on the reserve list.

Gulf Racing’s Aston Martin Vantage will not return to the European Le Mans Series. Instead Roald Goethe and Stuart Hall will race the car in the FIA World Endurance Championship, as reported by Sportscar365 in December.
