Toyota has committed to a two-car team for next month’s Six Hours of Shanghai, the penultimate round of this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship.
The Japanese manufacturer confirmed the decision Sunday, which comes in the wake of the rain-shortened Fuji event.
Alex Wurz and Nicolas Lapierre will drive the No. 7 car in China, while the season-long No. 8 car will be piloted by Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Buemi and Stephane Sarrazin.
Kaz Nakajima, who teamed with Wurz and Lapierre for victory in Japan, is unavailable due to his Super Formula commitments.
An announcement regarding Toyota’s program for the season-ending Six Hours of Bahrain will be made at a later date.
