IndyCar ace Simon Pagenaud of Team Penske will make an appearance at this week’s two-day IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship test at Daytona International Speedway.

Pagenaud, who ran at Daytona and Sebring with the factory Corvette Racing team in GT Le Mans, will be in a Corvette of a different variety this week.

The Frenchman confirmed he’ll test with Action Express Racing in one of its Corvette DPs, writing Monday on Twitter, “Rainy days and Mondays don’t get me down… Heading to Florida for some #sportscar action w/ Action Express Racing”

Action Express is yet to confirm its endurance drivers beyond Sunoco Challenge winner Jonny Adam, who has been confirmed as a driver of the Whelen-backed No. 31 entry. It’s believed Pagenaud could be a possibility to join him in that car for the Rolex 24 itself.

Filipe Albuquerque is also en route to Daytona to test in the team’s No. 5 car, and Scott Pruett has been reportedly linked to a seat in that same car, although Pruett’s only formal confirmation for 2016 is with the new F Performance Racing Lexus program.
