Lamborghini Teams to Take Car Delivery in December

The three confirmed full-season teams for the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 will receive their own chassis from Lamborghini in early December.

For this week’s test, the single Lamborghini Huracán GT3 on site is a “house” car from Grasser Racing Team, which has been busy getting mileage the last few weeks on U.S. soil.

Paul Miller Racing utilized the car for its Road Atlanta shakedown, then the car raced in the HSR Classic 24 this past weekend, and now it is being run and operated this week by some Change Racing personnel, led by Change team principal Robby Benton. The five confirmed Lamborghini drivers for 2016 in IMSA will test the car.

Crew from both O’Gara and Paul Miller are on site. Townsend Bell and Bill Sweedler of O’Gara are testing the car today for their first time.

Bell was first out in the car Tuesday morning, and Sweedler told Sportscar365 that O’Gara expects to receive the first chassis from Lamborghini.

Paul Miller’s trio of Bryan Sellers, Madison Snow and Bryce Miller of Paul Miller are due to arrive later Tuesday and test on Wednesday.

Corey Lewis, Change Racing’s driver in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America championship, is also expected to test today.

Change, the only team yet to confirm its lineup for 2016 (beyond Konrad Motorsport, which has only announced a partial season effort), hopes to have its lineup sorted in the coming weeks.

“The problem for me, here, is I don’t know as many people as I do in the NASCAR world,” Benton told Sportscar365.

“Ordinarily people would come to me and I’d get a flood of calls and emails. Here, it’s still a case of learning who everyone is, and making the rounds.”

Both O’Gara and Change will run in this week’s Lamborghini ST World Final at Sebring, where on-track activity begins on Thursday.
