Scuderia Corsa team principal Giacomo Mattioli has announced that Craig Stanton, the 2005 Grand-AM Rolex GT champion, and Chris Ruud will helm the team’s second car – the #64 Ferrari 458 Italia – for the Visitflorida.com Sports Car 250 at Road America on August 10, 2013. This will be the #64’s third outing this season, having participated in both the 24 Hrs. at Daytona and Indy.

“When we started the GT program we envisioned it as a platform that would allow a natural progression for our Ferrari Challenge drivers to keep racing with us in a more competitive series. I’m delighted to see this vision come to fruition having Chris Ruud joining our GT effort,” said team principal Mattioli.

Chris Ruud, a native of Wisconsin and an experienced competitor with Scuderia Corsa in the Ferrari North American Challenge knows both the Ferrari 458 Italia and the track very well, “I’m excited to race at Road America, it’s my favorite track in the United States. I’m also looking forward to my first multi-driver endurance race partnering with Craig Stanton.”

Craig Stanton, a veteran driver, returns to the team after having raced in the #63 at the June 15th Six Hours at Watkins Glen. “I’m excited to be back with Scuderia Corsa. Chris and I have worked together for a long time in the Ferrari Challenge and I am honored to support him in his first pro-race,” said Stanton. “Road America is a great track, very fast and technical, and the fans and history are incredible”.
