Tristan Gommendy will join Eurasia Motorsport for next year’s European Le Mans Series.
The team has confirmed it will enter a new Oreca 05 Nissan in the ELMS with Gommendy joining Pu Jun Jin and Nick de Bruijn in the driver line-up.
The Frenchman made his debut with the team in the opening round of the Asian Le Mans Series at Fuji Speedway in October and is also expected to be part of Eurasia’s expanded two-car effort for the final two rounds of the 2015-2016 season.
“We feel with Tristan on board we have a very strong driver line up which will give us a chance of being competitive in the European Le Mans Series,” said team principal Mark Goddard.
“Tristan is a Platinum driver for a good reason, he has a wealth of experience in Formula Cars having raced in F3, World Series, GP2, Superleague and Champ Cars plus he has proven to be one of the fastest LMP2 drivers out there.
“He stepped in for us at the Fuji round of Asian Le Mans and did a fantastic job which made the decision to race together in 2016 very easy.”
The Frenchman has previous Oreca 05 experience with Thiriet by TDS Racing, having driven in four of the five rounds this year with the former ELMS championship-winning squad.
