Kyle Marcelli will join James French at the wheel of Performance Tech’s Oreca FLM09 for the remainder of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, the team confirmed Thursday.

Additionally, Josh Norman has been announced as the team’s third driver for the remaining Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup events.

The 26-year-old Canadian returns to the team that gave him his first professional start in 2010, also in PC. He was a late-call up as a fifth driver for January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.

“I look forward to being paired with James in the Performance Tech PC for the year,” Marcelli said. “I think this kind of consistent program will be rewarded with success.”

The second-generation driver Norman made his PC debut at Daytona and is looking forward to additional seat time this season.

“It feels like home already,” Norman said. “While I was getting use to the car I worked with James and the team and they helped me get up to speed quickly.”

Added team principal Brent O’Neill: “It’s going to be a lot of fun for all of us this year,” O’Neill said. “Josh did a great job in the car at Daytona.

“He got up to speed very quickly and I was very impressed with Kyle Marcelli. He’s a great addition to the team; Marcelli fits well with our guys. He understands the program; he’ll be really quick straight away.

“This is going to be a big year, between French and Marcelli. Kyle doesn’t make mistakes; they’ll be fun to watch.”
