Gulf Racing confirmed Friday a double attack in the GTE class of the European Le Mans Series.
Team co-owner Roald Goethe, whose car narrowly missed out of the GTE-Am title in the FIA World Endurance Championship last year, will return to the Gulf Racing team to drive his Aston Martin Vantage V8.
Meanwhile, the team will also field a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR for Mike Wainwright, who returns to the GTE class after two seasons of GT3 competition.
It will mark the first time a Porsche has carried the Gulf colors in more than 30 years.
Additional drivers have yet to be announced for the dual program.
“It really does promise to be a great season in the ELMS,” said team manager Matt Beers. “It is always challenging to run two different marques in one garage but we have a team that is capable and I’m sure it will be of great interest to see the differences in the cars on level ground.”
The UK-based team has been a regular contender in Blancpain Endurance Series competition in recent years.
